Immigration bill

 

On 22 April 2018, the bill for a managed immigration and the right to asylum has been adopted by the National Assembly on first reading.

The main objectives of the bill are:

  • To improve the conditions for incoming foreign talent, notably highly qualified professionals through a multi-year « Talent Passport » resident’s permit, which should be extended to salaried employees of innovative companies;
  • To strengthen France’s capacity to attract the international profiles contributing to the economic dynamism and to the linguistic and cultural development.

The new version of the draft bill should be reviewed and discussed by the Senate during May / June 2018.
