Brexit: Draft agreement on the withdrawal approved
During a special meeting of the EU Council held on 25 November 2018, EU leaders endorsed the draft agreement related to future relations between the United Kingdom and the European Union. The draft agreement must be ratified by British and European parliamentarians by 30 March 2019.
The aim of this agreement is to prepare for the United Kingdom's exit from the European Union by setting up a transitional period until 31 December 2020, so as to provide for an orderly withdrawal while maintaining the free movement of goods, citizens and capital.
